'A Ginja da Lina' is a Portuguese liquor brand made out of sour cherry.
As a very typical drink it needs to have a strong identity on the market. It was founded in 1985 by Angelina - or simply Lina, and it has been around ever since.
We started by creating an icon out of the founder's photograph. A noble pose with a confident look was chosen for the icon as a way to represent the brand's firm values.
The label combines the checkered background with the icon creating the connection between traditional and modern. "A Ginja da Lina" is a classical and familiar name that along with its handwritten typography gives an idea of femininity and tradition. Our aim was to create an image where the traditional and handmade would create an appealing brand.
